"Spawn & Thrive" represents the second chakra and the flow of creativity, both in the flow of torrent mountain rivers and the quest of salmon at the close of their lives. They return to their origins to create the next generation in the face of incessant flows of current against them, in addition to numerous predators. Creativity is spontaneous expression in the face of a challenge: an opportunity to speak out truth through spiritual and natural inspiration and beauty. It is effort through cyclical processes and concepts of balance. The two fish swim as a pair around the central disk, which shows the balance of opposites - male and female, light and dark, Yin and Yang. (This piece is a companion composition to the other piece similarly titled.)

(No compasses, straight-edge measuring devices or Photoshop were used in the creation of these images. This is all done freehand.)
